Strategicon sponsors Southern California’s largest game conventions: Orccon (on Presidents’ Day Weekend each February), Gamex (on Memorial Day Weekend each May), and Gateway (on Labor Day Weekend each September), which all currently run out of the LAX Hilton hotel just outside the Los Angeles airport. Strategicon is a non-profit game convention run by volunteers which brings to you the widest array of family, historical, fantasy, and science fiction board, card, computer, miniatures, and roleplaying games at each of our conventions.
Games on Demand has a small but dedicated presence at Strategicon, committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment, and bringing to you all the indie goodness you come to expect, including many games from the local Southern California game design scene.
Unlike larger game conventions, GoD here is less structured with ad hoc pitch sessions during the usual RPG start times, but also provides a little game library and staff to get you into games at random times of the day, a Sunday morning game design lean coffee chat, and a Sunday afternoon “kids edition” specifically for younger players.
